This photo today I share is one I took several months ago. It is so appropriate for today though. John loved to share his flowers with friends. One of our special friends received several of these buckets of flowers was Bonnie. Yesterday when John and I went to visit her at the hospital, Bonnie talked about the pretty flowers that John would bring her during her cancer visits. This morning when I awoke I received the word that Bonnie had been "birthed into eternity". She passed away in the late evening. Yes my heart is tender right now. My prayers and thoughts go out to her two sons and their families and to those to whom Bonnie was such a special friend. Just about a year and one-half ago we stood with Bonnie at her husband's funeral, and now we will stand with her sons at her service. This morning I just wanted my coffee and then time in the Word. God's Word is such a comfort and encouragement. What hope I (we) can have because we know where Bonnie's destiny is--with the Lord. She was one of those quiet-type Christians. She lived her life with hope in Christ. I am reading a pamphlet put out by Wayne Cordeiro "When a Loved One Dies" and I love this quote: "When one man dies, one chapter is not torn out of the book, but translated into a better language"--John Donme. Also, this portion of scripture stands out to me this morning: ... "I recall to my mind, therefore I have hope. The Lord's loving kindness indeed never cease, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Thy faithfulness" Lamentations 3:20-23
